Why This Class
If your student takes the initiative to be elected or appointed to a Student Body Leadership position, you want them to have the knowledge and skills to make the most of it. This invitation-only course helps students in school leadership roles succeed by developing excellent communication skills.
Students in this course explore the role of charisma in speaking and listening, practice skills for navigating difficult conversations, refine their unique communication style and learn how to connect with an audience. Mentors guide students to use these skills to plan and carry out a school-wide event (in-person or online) and assist in at least two others.
By completing this course, students increase their self-confidence and awareness of their communication strengths and weaknesses. They can more effectively relate to others and are prepared to lead in school and life.
